Family Time

Our family, Milo, Kirsten and Elle and Paycey, just left yesterday and we sure had a fun time. We did alot of fun things, but swimming at Whiskeytown Lake is always a favorite. Now we have Grady and Kiah for a week and are having fun with them too!

Just Reminiscing

Well I'm still thinking of our wonderful vacation and the beautiful creation we were in. Especially this week as we are still socked in with smoke. The fires in our area are pretty much contained, but there is still activity in nearby counties. So we have been indoors more than usual. I am still so thankful for the area we live in. When our vacation was over we still were able to return to a beautiful area with trees, streams and mountains.

We are getting ready for more

company today and excited to catch up with family. Sawyer is always so thrilled to know people are coming to visit him.

Family Vacation

We are back and had a great trip! Even the drive was not bad. It took us 20 hours each way, but staying in Crested Butte Colorado was such a treat! We were outside everyday enjoying hiking, mountain biking(just Zach this time),rafting, strolling downtown, fishing, picnicking, and riding the chairlift. The kids even got to play in snow at the top of the chairlift. It was wildflower season there, so many of our pictures are flowers. Sawyer loved playing with his cousins and we were so blessed to have a park next to our house. The views from our place were incredible! I'm not sure when we'll ever get back there, maybe when Redding has a full functioning airport. We have so many pictures that I may post them all week. I just wanted to post my family pictures as this was the best part of our trip to hang out with them.

Over The River And Through The Woods......

Today is the day we start driving to Colorado, 2200 miles round trip. I haven't been in a car for longer than 7 hours since our move here in 2002 (one way). The question has been, "Are you excited for your vacation?" My answer has been...once we get there, I will be. I'm feeling very guilty over that response as it is such a blessing to be able to spend time with my family for a whole week. Vacation isn't something we have to do or need to do, but a want. I am so thankful that God allows us our wants so often. As our car is loaded and our house is looking a little emptier and Toby is packed for "doggy camp", my attitude is shifting. I am excited! I'm excited to see country that I haven't seen for sooooo long! I'm excited to spend time with my husband for 10 days! I'm excited to see my sisters and catch up with my parents. Family is so important and if we don't make the time for each other, we will drift. I'm excited that I got taken for an idiot at the tire store and have 4 new tires to make our trip. I'm excited for Sawyer to see the Rocky Mountains and enjoy some new activities with his cousins. I'm excited for my nephews and niece to fish with their uncle zach. I'm excited to leave 100+ degrees and not breathe smoke. I'm excited that Zach finally gets to take a real road trip after so many years of me saying no thanks. Sawyer has no clue the amount of time he will spend in his 5 point harness, but I really don't think he will care too much. He loves to go,go,go and can't wait to get on with our trip.

This will probably be my last post for awhile, but I hope to have amazing things to report later!

FREEDOM

We decided to get out of town since Zach was free from work and of course we were free to go as well. Due to all the fires in our area, fireworks were cancelled. Mt. Shasta ended up being the perfect place for us to go, 80 degrees and full of 4th activities. We watched the world's lamest parade, but the snow cones made up for it!.. We spent time at the town park and filled our water bottle with water straight from the spring! That night we went to the golf resort to watch fireworks. Sawyer's highlights were running around the golf course doing tricks and playing with the silly light up toy we got him. We may have to make a new tradition as we all enjoyed ourselves so much!

Swim Lessons

Today was our last day of swim lessons. I would now say Sawyer is water safe, which was the whole goal for us. We had a great time with our friends and we'll be sad not to go anymore. By the way, he is the one in red shorts with blue goggles.
