"the calm after a storm"

It has been raining here since Wednesday with very few breaks and no blue sky to be seen. This morning when we were leaving for church, it was hailing. After a few hours, the clouds rolled away and left us with a beautiful clear day. Sawyer was thrilled to be outdoors to play baseball, throw rocks in our little stream, and ride his scooter(aka skateboard). Here are some pictures that captured the beauty of our afternoon.
Bradley and Sawyer help with the baking.

Brooke confused between the bread dough and the playdoh.

We had a great time making bread with our friends on Friday. Actually, Lisa was making the bread and I was her apprentice. It was a very rainy day and the perfect activity.

Sawyer's Flood

For the past 2 months, we have been trying to potty train Sawyer. We half heartedly started with intentions to quit if he wasn't ready. He surprised us and did really well. However, the past month has been alot of hit and miss. This week has brought alot of two year old defiance and alot of messes. On Thursday, he was standing in the kitchen counter "helping" me cook. Before I knew it, the flood gates were opened and Sawyer was the water feature. In my frusteration, I pulled off his pants and through him in the sink. I thought I was being very stern and providing some discipline. While I cleaned the counter, drawers, floor and cabinets, I realized that Sawyer was having the time of his life in the sink. I couldn't be upset anymore as I laughed with him.

"On the Prowl"

We did it! We finally found the little travel trailer we've been looking for. We sold our boat when Sawyer was born because it didn't fit into our new life very well. We love to camp, but the older we get, the less appealing it is to sleep on the ground. Last summer we tent camped a couple of times, but having Sawyer stuffed in our sleeping bags did not allow for some good zzzz's. The family we bought it from spent an hour telling us about all their memories from the past 10 years that they owned it. I'm excited for the memories that we will build around our new(very used)toy! We can't wait to explore our amazing parks and campgrounds in the Northwest! Let's go CAMPING!!
